The Anthem AVM 50 is an A/V surround preamplifier/processor for connecting audio and video sources in a surround system. It includes four HDMI inputs, one main HDMI output, and balanced XLR audio inputs and outputs. Its black enclosure has rack-mount ears, feet, and a front-panel headphone socket.

Black Anthem AVM 50 component with a vented metal enclosure, rack-mount ears and cylindrical feet. Its front has a wide purple-tinted display window, a large rotary knob, numerous silver pushbuttons and a headphone socket. The rear carries HDMI, component, composite and S-video connections, analog and digital audio connections, balanced XLR inputs and outputs, antenna terminals and control interfaces. No loose cables, remote or other accessories are shown. Top cover has long pale scratches and scuffs alongside the ventilation slots. Top cover has a rectangular darker residue/discoloration patch near its center. Front upper edge has multiple chips and worn spots in the black finish. Large front knob has chipped finish and scuffing around its rim. Display window has several irregular dark patches along its top, lower and right edges; their cause is not established visually. Rear panel has extensive scratches around the HDMI inputs and expansion-port area. Rack ears and side mounting brackets have scratches and finish wear. Side enclosure has pale rubbed/scuffed areas near the ventilation slots.
