These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at oregonrecycles.com (the “Site”), and your purchase of products from us online or in our store. These Terms are an agreement between you and Green Century Electronics Recycling, the legal entity that operates the OregonRecycles.com sales department and brand (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing the Site, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or place an order.

1. Who We Are

Green Century Electronics Recycling is the legal name of our business. OregonRecycles.com is its consumer sales department and brand.

2. Customer Service and Contact

Reach us through oregonrecycles.com or through eBay messages for questions, comments, or product requests; these are the recommended channels. Expect a response within one business day. We prioritize customer satisfaction and offer prompt shipping and a 30-day money-back guarantee as described below.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to place an order. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information. You may manage your account at My Account and submit inquiries via Support Tickets. You may request deletion of your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Products, Descriptions, and Condition

We sell used, refurbished, open-box, and new electronics and related equipment. We aim for accurate and clear product descriptions and photographs, but we do not provide detailed one-on-one support for individual items. Please note:

  • Unless expressly stated otherwise, products are sold “as tested” and do not carry a manufacturer’s warranty.
  • Each item is tested for functionality and graded according to the R2v3 REC standard described in Section 11.
  • For customer privacy and security, we do not disclose individual item identifiers such as service tags, serial numbers, IMEI, UUID, or MAC addresses.
  • We do not provide ongoing technical support or setup services for products purchased.

5. Orders, Pricing, and Availability

All orders are subject to acceptance and product availability. Because we sell the same inventory across our store, our website, and eBay, an item may sell before an order is finalized. If an item you ordered is unavailable, we will notify you and issue a full refund for that item. We reserve the right to correct pricing or description errors and to cancel or refuse any order affected by such an error, even after an order has been submitted; in that case we will refund any amount charged. Prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice.

6. Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards online, processed securely by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and are not stored on our servers. Stripe may offer an accelerated checkout option (Stripe Link). See our Privacy Policy for how payment data is handled.
  • Direct bank transfer, where offered at checkout.
  • In-store payments (cash, debit, and credit) at our Portland location through our point-of-sale system.

Credit Card Surcharge: We apply a 3% surcharge on credit card payments for in-store sales. This surcharge is not charged on debit card or cash payments. You authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the total order amount, including applicable taxes, shipping, and surcharges.

7. Shipping and Delivery

We ship using major carriers and provide tracking where available. Shipping charges and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout or on the applicable eBay listing. Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for carrier delays. Additional shipping and handling details are available on our About page and our eBay store; we recommend reviewing them periodically for updates.

8. Making an Offer

Offers are considered only when submitted through eBay’s “Make Offer” function, and only for listings where that feature is enabled. Due to the volume of messages, we do not respond to offer messages; however, reasonable offers submitted through the tool will be considered.

9. Returns, Refunds, and Restocking

  • We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery in accordance with this policy and, for marketplace purchases, the applicable eBay return policy.
  • A 5% restocking fee applies to undamaged items returned within the 30-day period. Returned items must include all original packaging and accessories.
  • Items that are damaged by the customer, missing parts, or returned outside the 30-day window may not be eligible for a refund.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method after the returned item is received and inspected.

10. Warranties and Disclaimers

Except for any express warranty stated in a specific listing, all products and the Site are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Products do not carry manufacturer warranties unless expressly stated. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. R2v3 Testing and Grading

We are an R2v3-certified facility. All items are tested for functionality per the R2v3 standard and listed accordingly. We use the R2v3 R2 Equipment Categorization (REC) to assign cosmetic, functional, and data-sanitization status to Collectible and Specialty Electronics and to Functional Products.

Cosmetic Description Grades

  • C0 — Not categorized.
  • C1 — Damaged (for materials recovery).
  • C2 — Used Poor (heavy use and age): significant cosmetic blemishes such as multiple heavy dents; may require repair; damage to latches, hinges, keyboards, etc. is prevalent; critical parts may be missing.
  • C3 — Used Fair (moderate use and age): cosmetic blemishes consistent with wear, including multiple dents, discoloration, and light-to-heavy scratches; damage to latches, hinges, keyboards, etc.; some parts, panels, bezels, or covers may be missing.
  • C4 — Used Good: scratches and other surface imperfections from consistent use, but in good overall condition; minor label wear may be visible; small dents and small areas of discoloration may be present; no damage to latches or hinges and no missing parts, panels, bezels, or covers.
  • C5 — Used Very Good: minor scratches and other surface imperfections from consistent use, but in good condition; minor label wear may be visible; minor dents and areas of discoloration; no missing parts.
  • C6 — Used Excellent: overall excellent cosmetic condition; may have light scratches or minor blemishes from normal wear with no impact on functionality or performance; fully cleaned with all non-original labels removed; no missing parts.
  • C7 — Certified Pre-Owned (seller or manufacturer refurbished): fully restored to like-new condition with warranty; fully cleaned and cosmetically repaired with no blemishes; no missing parts.
  • C8 — Unused: new, out-of-box, unused equipment removed from original packaging with no signs of wear or alteration.
  • C9 — New Open Box: new, unused equipment in original packaging where factory seals have been broken; no signs of wear or alteration.

Functionality Description Grades

  • F1 — Collectible or Specialty Equipment: rare, vintage, or specialized equipment no longer manufactured or generally available in retail; may have broken or missing parts.
  • F2 — Verified Specialty Electronics: verified removed from operation with no known defects; no physical damage, defects, corrosion, or missing parts; part and serial numbers verified accurate.
  • F3 — Key Functions Working: a subset of the primary functions an ordinary user expects are verified working through manual or software tests; software may not be loaded or configured; hardware required for key functions may have been removed after testing (e.g., hard drive); may be missing non-essential components; secondary functions may not be tested or working; may not include focus materials (e.g., battery); all missing components are listed for each item.
  • F4 — Hardware Functional: all hardware tested and verified working through manual or software tests; no missing or damaged components; software not loaded or configured; no hardware defects.
  • F5 — Refurbished: all functions tested and verified working through software tests; loaded and configured with legally licensed software for full operation; software test results available; no hardware or software defects.
  • F6 — Like New: all functions tested and verified through software tests; repaired with OEM original parts; loaded and configured with the original manufacturer’s legally licensed software; meets OEM specifications for full original functionality; software test results available; zero defects.

12. Sales on eBay and Other Marketplaces

We also list and sell on eBay and may sell through other marketplaces. Purchases made on those marketplaces are additionally subject to that marketplace’s terms and policies. Our shipping, payment, and return policies are published on our eBay store and our About page, and are intended to be consistent across channels.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site to violate any law; to interfere with or disrupt the Site or its security; to attempt unauthorized access to any system or account; to scrape, harvest, or misuse data; or to submit false, fraudulent, or abusive orders or content. We may suspend or terminate access for any violation.

14. Intellectual Property

The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, and product photographs, are owned by Green Century Electronics Recycling (OregonRecycles.com) or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our content without our prior written permission, except as necessary to use the Site for its intended purpose.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Green Century Electronics Recycling (OregonRecycles.com) and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any product purchased. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product or the Site will not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim. In these Terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Green Century Electronics Recycling. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Green Century Electronics Recycling (OregonRecycles.com) and its owners and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or products.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your purchase will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Multnomah County, Oregon, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and post the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Site or placement of an order after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
